The brightest star of the constellation. In a small telescope, besides this orange giant of the second magnitude, a companion of 9th magnitude appears. In a large telescope, a companion of 11.3 magnitude is also added. Astronomers believed that Enif is a variable star, but this has not yet been definitively confirmed. It is located 690 light-years away.
