The total eclipse lasts for 9 hours, and the entire obscuration persists for an additional 84 minutes. Among eclipsing variable stars, RW Tauri exhibits one of the deepest magnitude decreases, up to 3.5. It is estimated that this system is located 1,370 light-years away.
