With its 2nd magnitude, it is the brightest star in the constellation. Ras Alhague is located at the northern edge of the constellation and is not very far from a star with a similar name, α Herculis, the main star of Hercules. It is a yellow-white giant star located 48 light-years away from us. This distance is constantly increasing due to its motion of 8 km per second. |
