a well-known binary star discovered in 1779 by William Herschel. The yellow, golden star (3.7mag) has a guide star of brightness 7.4mag with a red, purple tinge at a distance of 13" (the distance varies from 5" to 16" in period), which orbits it in 526 years. We can resolve the double star in a 6 cm telescope. |
