The orange-red Mira-type variable star varies its brightness from magnitude 6.7 to 14.4 over a period of 10 months to 317 days. It forms the western apex of a triangle with two 7.5-mag stars. At its maximum it shines through, while at its minimum it is barely visible even in a larger telescope.
