a well-known optical binary star whose faint blue components exhibit quite different proper motion, with the result that the relative positions of the two stars have changed quite significantly over time. In 1830 their mutual distance was 26", in 1960 they came as close as 9" and since then their distance has been gradually increasing again. The main star has a brightness of 3.1mag and the guide star 8.2mag. A telescope with a 6 cm diameter objective is sufficient to resolve this rare pair.
