an occulting variable star. It's actually two strongly flattened, nearly equal-sized stars that orbit each other in 2.051 days. As a result, we observe light changes in 68 Her from 4.7mag to 5.4mag. The luminosities of the two stars are quite different. The brighter is 260 times brighter than the Sun and the fainter is only 100 times brighter. Their masses are 7.5 and 2.9 times the mass of the Sun. In terms of size, the two stars are about 6 times the diameter of the Sun.
