The brightest star of the constellation is a 2nd magnitude star. The orange color of this star is noticeable even with the naked eye. It is located at a distance of 80 light years. Its name Atria is an abbreviation of the words alpha Triangulum Australis, which were introduced by air navigators during World War II.
