a variable star with a deep red hue. It is one of the cool carbon stars, notable for the carbon molecules present in its atmosphere. The brightness of the star varies between 9.4mag and 11.4mag over a period of 172 days. In a larger telescope it is always found in the middle of the southeastern side of the isosceles triangle of stars 7, 8 and 9 Draconis. |
